Will Eisner homenagem/ Tribute

A Violência exagerada. A pobreza.

One common thing in Will Eisner's stories is the city of New York many times as the fundamental cause of the formation of the characters. Batman Fan Film Brazil has many topics about Culture and American/Brazilian Society . And when you're writing a script and is in the process of creation there are some points that you think need to be discussed. Gotham City it's one. The influence on people. The characters that exist only because they live in Gotham City. Scarface and Batman never would exist in Metropolis. Sometimes I like to see Gotham City as São Paulo. The exaggerated violence. Poverty. The alleys. The numerous buildings. The fear of living in it and even the rain that never stops. And when we were writing the screenplay (Ricardo Syozi and I) because we needed one more scene with one of the characters, of course it had to be a tribute to Eisner. I picked up my book "New York: The Big City " and told him to choose a tale ... we would adapt it. And he chose: "Freedom". We adapted a narrative of Batman about some myths of Brazilian Literature. Jeca Tatu by Monteiro Lobato and we created one of the scenes that will again be one of the most poetic and memorable of the film. One of the themes is also the lost dream. The dream that many lose in Gotham. Bruce Wayne's dream to able hear an new story of his father. Arnold's Dream to able to dance again with his mother. "Freedom" talks about it ... only sleeping is when dreams come true in a city as troubled. Now a preview of Batman's narrative, this scene we will be shot very soon:
"He does not speak, He does not sing, He does not laugh, he does not love. He dreams.
He alone in the midst of so much life...he does not live ... "
